The 5th Consortium Meeting of the FreeMe Project took place in Istanbul, Turkey, from September 24-25, 2024, organized by our partner Arcelik at their premises. The meeting was held in hybrid format, allowing for both physical and online participation.
On the first day, the project coordinator from GASER initiated discussions by highlighting recent achievements and the progress of various work packages led by their respective leaders. Participants engaged in productive discussions on key work packages: WP2 (Safe & Sustainable by Design Strategy), WP3 (Sprayable Resins Process), WP4 (Cr6+ and Pd-Free Metallization Process), WP5 (Development of Supporting Technologies), WP6 (Validation of Technologies in End User Test Cases), and WP7 (Roadmap to Market Deployment).
Additionally, the consortium meeting featured the 2nd Internal Training of the FreeMe Project. The first session focused on the Cr6+ and Pd-Free Metallization Process, with an insightful presentation by Dr. Alexandros Karathanasis, CEO of Creative Nano.
The day concluded with a memorable trip to the heart of Istanbul, followed by a delightful dinner.
Day 2 of the meeting began with presentations from WP8 (Extroversion and Exploitation Activities) and WP9 (Project Management), offering a comprehensive overview of the project’s progress and addressing any remaining challenges in detail. The second internal training of the project continued with the session on In-line Optical Inspection System for Coatings by Laurent Philippet from IRIS.
The day concluded with an insightful tour of Arçelik‘s premises, where attending partners had the opportunity to experience the company’s advanced processes and cutting-edge R&D facilities first-hand.
