FreeMe participated as a sponsor at the SICT 2025 Conference held in Albufeira, Portugal, between 22 and 25 of April 2025, where it hosted a dedicated workshop on Safe and Sustainable Coatings. The event brought together FreeMe partners, sister projects NICKEFFECT and NOUVEAU, and the guest project CoBRAIN, to share progress, results, and insights on advanced coating technologies.
The workshop was chaired by Prof. Luca Magagnin from Politecnico di Milano, who also presented PoliMi’s contributions to the project. Additional presentations from other FreeMe partners were delivered by AUTH, EXELISIS, and IDENER, showcasing the project’s achievements in sustainable metallization technologies, modelling, and decision-support development.
To support its visibility, FreeMe also hosted a booth throughout the conference, where visitors could explore the project’s materials, including flyers, roll up and trifolds. Moreover, FreeMe’s dissemination materials were included in the official SICT 2025 conference bag, reaching every attendee.
This activity increased FreeMe’s reach, encouraged cooperation across projects, and sparked conversations among stakeholders regarding surface treatment innovation and sustainability.
